Wes has a new video review (don’t worry he’s not switching to all video) of a Star Wars/Transformers hybrid. Why a video review for this one? To show off the wicked transformation. Check it out!

Nooooooooooooooooo, my robotic counterpart! Why are you doing video reviews now? Video reviews are the devil. πŸ˜›

Still, this wasn't too painful and was fairly informative — good on you for not skipping over the articulation and the figure's issues with standing. (Though it seemed to me like a fairly easy fix would be to lean the figure forward a bit or, like you did, find an action pose that centers the weight of the backpack. Pretty much all figures will stand stably in some pose, but it's still not ideal when those poses look awkward or when the "sweet spot" is difficult to locate.) I also agree with you about the price being a bit much, but I wonder how this guy measures up to a Cyberverse commander in terms of size. If they're about the same, at least Hasbro's consistent.

Seems like there was something else I wanted to note, but I can't remember what it was. (That's another good thing about text reviews — I'd be able to scroll up and check! :P)

Just kidding. As I was telling Newt before, my text reviews aren't going away by any means. The only times I'm planning video reviews are going to be when I have an over-sized figure that might be hard to photograph, Transformers so I can show off the transformation, and toys that either have a lot of info to go over or have a lot of features. There might be other reviews popped up over there for things that are too normal and boring for Infinite Hollywood as well πŸ™‚ Rest assured, I have many text reviews coming up.

As far as your question, the only commander I have is Powerglide and Obi-Wan is just a hair taller than him head-to-head. I normally don't have trouble finding a sweet spot on toys, it's just that his feet are very tiny and the joints in them are really stiff so it takes a bit of work, which hurts it more for play than pose. 7.99 isn't awful, it's just average for the scale now. Stinks, too, scouts were always my favorite class and now they're as much as deluxes used to be!

I wish I could explain why I dislike these Star Wars Transformers so much.
When I was a kid I think my head would've exploded if these existed but now they just make me shrug and move on.

The video review's well done man, definitely a nice addition to the site and they make sense for Transformers to showcase the transition from mode to mode.
I appreciate the genuine reactions from you when Obi-Wan kept falling over, made me laugh out loud hahaha!

I'm probably being harsh, but the video reviews don't seem as entertaining as the text ones.

Then again, I've probably been spoilt by watching Ashens video reviews…

  • wesitron says:

Not at all! Everybody's entitled to their opinions and people like different types of reviews. I go back and forth. With play features or articulation questions I usually prefer videos, but for sculpt and paint I prefer text. Though if I see 150 videos for a Transformer toy, I'll always want to see a text one and vice versa πŸ™‚
