I shop at stores, so you don’t have to.

Right out the gate we stop at Target and check out their new MU two pack exclusives. Notice something different here? Yup, somebody pulled a swap. I have to wonder though, is this a better swap? I like the old Punisher figure more than this new one. Iron Man was swapped too, but again, the SHS Iron Man isn’t bad.

Speaking of swaps, this Target was loaded down with old Star Wars guys. Either someone found a way to return them, or Target found these guys hiding under a pallet in the back.

All they had was Obi-Wan and Anakin. These are from the Revenge of the Sith movie, but I didn’t know if they were rare or not (I figure not) so I left them. Strange to see this old of toys at a Target though and it was clear that they had just recently been put out.

Moving on, against my better judgement I think some of these movie Avatar toys look neat. Not neat enough that I’m going to buy any, but neat none the less.

I kind of want to make a custom Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD out of them.

Speaking of neat stuff I’ll never buy, the Halo mini figures are pretty neat. Mega Blocks makes them and I’d say they’re a big hit for Mega Blocks. Just based on how much stuff I see out there for them.

Other cool stuff includes these Imaginext toys. These guys come with a robot.

This guy comes with a big robot. It’s like my fantasy Robot Jox line has finally come to fruition… In Imaginext!

I still need to see Toy Story 3. I really want to collect these little guys. I probably won’t though. I don’t need anything else to collect. I’m out of control as is.

Even though Mattel said DCIH is Done in 2010 for now, they’ve got it back on the shelves in Target. Strange strategy there, but what do I know?

I’ve thought about picking up this big giant Proto-Bat Bot. It looks cool. I’m not sure how this relates to Batman Brave and the Bold (did he ever appear?) but thus far Mattel doesn’t seem too interested in making figures of the characters from the show anyway. It’s all about the wacky gimmicks!

Are these guys the new Ren and Stimpy?

Mighty Beanz have 3/4’s of an aisle now. Are they on a comeback?!

I really dig some of these Ben 10 figures. The line has relaunched and there are some great looking figures in it. Like this tiger guy.

And this blue moth dude.

Which brings us to Meijer and their Ben 10. They have this guy who is a version of Humungousaur who looks even more like a Frog Monster from Hellboy. Man, I really know how to pick em, right?

Finally, we end our journey with Meijer’s selection of guns. They have a lot of toy guns here. Pistols and such. I think that’s like the gun used by Dirty Harry!

A lot of stores don’t carry many toy guns anymore, since kids actually shoot each other these days. I’m not really taking a side there, I understand why the toy guys aren’t in vogue anymore. Still I’m kind of glad to see Meijer has some.

But an M-60?! Man that’s way more than Cops and Robbers!

That’s it for this time, but next time I shop I will fold you up, put you in my pocket and take you along for another TALES FROM THE TOY AISLE!

Wow. Your Target has those JLU 3-packs released like at the beginning of the year, but I have never once seen them in my life…

  • They've been pretty readily available here. I also saw this weekend, the new singles, Red Tornado, the new Captain Atom and others… But at $8.99 I had to pass. Tears me up a little bit, but I can't pay $9 for one JLU.

Always nice to window shop vicariously with you! I've ben a fan of those Ben 10 figures for a while, but know less than nothing about them, other than what I see on the shelves.

  • Thanks. Glad you enjoy it. I'm pretty much in the same boat with the Ben 10 stuff. The newest stuff does look pretty neat though. They even have comic packs.
