Okay Mattel, you win. I will be buying some of your WWE figures. I tried to resist, as my general disdain for WWE in general has me less than interested in most of the current roster… But your Legends? Yeah they look like they’re off to a good start.

Old school Sarge, almost AWA style? Kudos for doing something new here. I still wish you’d work something out with Hasbro so I could get a Joe Sarge though.

Okay your Dusty looks like a mutant, but Gentle Giant did the head scans right? I’m betting Dusty got in the machine and started making stupid faces and this is what happened.

Ricky Steamboat! Yeah!

Old school Roadwarriors too! Jakks did a lot of good Road Warriors though and I think they may have you beat on this one. Something looks a little off here, but kudos anyway.

Dibiase looks pretty good, but only if you put some highlights in his hair. I dig the real clothes, but I also liked the suited versions of Dibiase that Jakks did. I’m conflicted.

Still, all in all the Mattel WWE line is shaping up much better now with some additions of legends. Will they get to the scope and diversity that Jakks did though? That’s the real question. The one advantage Mattel has here in my book is that Jakks did so many legends so quick, I could never keep up and eventually gave up. I’m still not sure which I prefer, but these do have my interest peaked.

I might have to pick some of these up, especially Steamboat. With Mattel making these and Jakks doing these its a great time for wrestling figures.

I'm actually not impressed with these overall. The sculpts look kinda soft, and I think Jakks did a *WAY* better job with Sgt. Slaughter; same with all of 'em pretty much.

Let me know when they do Paul Ellering, Slick, Lord Alfred Hayes, Jack Tunney, if they do a better Mr. Fuji, Big Boss Man, and actually make Macho Man.

oh yeah….can't forget Uncle Elmer and Nailz

  • I'd buy a Nailz. Not sure about Elmer though, lol.

I agree, Jakks had some better face sculpts but man I love Ricky Steamboat so he would be a must get.
Why are they sculpting all the Shawn Michaels figures with a pony tail, it should be hanging out long.
