This isn’t really a review of anything and I’m not going to be snarky. I’m just going to say that there is a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic series coming out this summer from IDW and TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman is co-writing and doing page layouts and variant covers.

Comics Alliance has the whole story and an interview with co-writer Tom Waltz.

I will write some more crap for you once I finish this awful test I am studying for in a couple weeks.

Kevin Eastman is the BOMB!! and i met him severial times at the SAN DIEGO COMIC CON in the late 80's & early 90's I'm very glad he's back to do another TMNT comic, WAY TO GO MR. EASTMAN!!!

  • As excited as I am by this, I just hope it works out. The Turtles under solely Laird were definitely lacking a little bit of something, but he mostly kept the spirit there and just toned down the violence and amped up the sci-fi. When they broke apart, it was very clear what Laird had brought to the TMNT equation, because there was more emphasis on it when he had them by themselves…

Eastman's never quite had that chance. However, his one project of TMNT alone, Body Count, is absolutely dreadful. As good of an ambassador for the Turtles as Eastman is, I am a little concerned about his actual ability to contribute useful storylines and such… Thankfully the rest of the crew IDW has put together is aces and so, Eastman is just icing on the cake as it were.
