No comic today. I just didn’t have the time to get one done to my liking and rather then half ass it, I figured I’d give you something worthwhile next week. In place of a Sunday comic I’ve got a bit of DC Direct news. For those of you following DC’s big Green Lantern storyline, Blackest Night, you’ll be excited to hear this news.

DC Direct is producing an exclusive set of Hal Jordan Green Lantern figures in every color of the Lantern corps. Very cool. Each one looks a little different and it’s definitely cool to see all the different versions of Hal Jordan as he’ll likely be during the upcoming Blackest Night storyline.

Here’s the breakdown of availability:

Wednesday (Preview Night) – July 22 – 6:00 pm Hal Jordan: Green Lantern – 3,000 pieces available

Thursday, July 23 – 10:00 am
Hal Jordan: Yellow Lantern – 1,500 pieces available

Friday, July 24 – 10:00 am
Hal Jordan: Blue Lantern – 1,500 pieces available

Saturday, July 25 – 10:00 am
Hal Jordan: Orange Lantern – 1,500 pieces available

Sunday, July 26 – 10:00 am
Hal Jordan: Red Lantern – 1,500 pieces available

Each figure comes with its own lantern and a wearable power ring customized to each Corps. Each figure is available starting its respective day, and will continue to be on sale until it is sold out. As of press time, pricing information was unavailable. Each figure comes in its own four-color box.

What no Violet Lantern Hal Jordan?

The only bad thing is that these are DC Direct figures, so you know what you’re getting into. Well that and they aren’t being produced as a box set, rather you have to compile all the figures together over each night. Even though it is a neat idea, it sounds like a bit of bunk. You have to be at SDCC for all the days of the event to get the whole set.

No word on if these will be sold online at some later point either. Oh well, at least they’re neat looking. I’ll never own them.
