TNA/Impact Wrestling's 2017 Reboot

Newton, March 10, 2017

So last night was the debut of the "new" TNA, err Impact Wrestling and I thought I'd share a few thoughts on the changes, the things they did right and the things they did that were very wrong. First let me preface this by saying I am a longtime TNA fan. Unlike most of the people who criticize the product, I've follwed TNA since day one. I ordered almost all of the early weekly pay-per-views and followed them from Fox Sports to Spike to Destination America to Pop.

Geek Girl #4 Mini Review

Newton, March 1, 2017

Sam Johnson's Geek Girl continues to be one of the more unique independent comics out there, with a focus on action, exciting cheesecake pin-up artworks and wild storytelling that will grasp even the most common reader. Issue #4 of this exciting new miniseries deals with super-villain Lightning Storm and her total domination of our titular hero.
Robot 13 Comic Review

Newton, February 24, 2017

Robot 13 #1 Written by Thomas Hall; Illustrated by Daniel Bradford Sometimes a fun comic goes under the radar. Take Robot 13 as an example. This comic came out in 2010ish and had a TPB published back in 2013. I likely would have never discovered this comic without my iPhone. Before I get to the comic itself, I have to give kudos to whomever designed the interface for Robot 13 on the iPhone. It's a rich reading experience that makes each page feel like a story teller is unfolding it for you.
Trancers Minimates Comics

Newton, February 12, 2017

I've been really into Minimates and rekindling my love for Full Moon's old Trancers movies. So a few customs later and I've started making Trancers Minimate comics. Let me know if you like, there could be more "down the line".

Created by reclusive mad scientist, Dr. Shutain Franken, Black Ox is the evil robot counterpart to Tetsujin.
Classic Pop Culture Cinema - Maniac Cop Review

Newton, January 7, 2017

I'm in the process of watching a Maniac Cop marathon of sorts. It doesn't really fit in with the Christmas spirit, but I recently found out that Netflix has all three movies online to watch so I've jumped in. What's Maniac Cop you ask? Maniac Cop is a series of films that vaguely fall under the "slasher" formula starting Robert Z'Dar as a cop back from the dead inflicting death upon those who wronged him when he was an NYPD.... And anyone else who gets in his way.

Funko Mystery Minis Freddy Krueger Review

Newton, October 3, 2016

Mystery Minis Horror Series Freddy Krueger 2 Inch Scale By: Funko $5.99 The 31 Days of Halloween continue with a look at Funko's Mystery Mini version of the man who provided A Nightmare on Elm Street. I'd say he probably provided a lot of nightmares elsewhere too. But now here he is in a tiny, fun little desktop toy. I've held onto this little guy for about a year, just so I could review this figure (and several of his friends) in our Halloween Countdown.

Blair Witch Movie Review

Newton, October 2, 2016

Blair Witch 2016 Directed by Adam Wingard Starring James Allen McCune and Callie Hernandez In Theaters Now I wanted to like Blair Witch. I really did. I wouldn’t call myself a “die hard” fan of the original, Blair Witch Project, but I still contend that it’s one of the most inventive and deeply chilling horror films of all time. While it may have more or less kickstarted the “found footage” genre, it made smart choices.
